Amati #7389 Model Building Tool Set of 3 quick set & release clamps- One large and a pair of smaller ones.
The large one has a 5" span with a depth reach of 3.25", the smaller pair have a 4.5" span with a depth reach of 1.5". ABS jaws with super soft rubber grips on 3/16" wide squared brass bars.
A breeze to use, they can be set & released with one hand. Designed by Amati for their line of wood ship kits, these clamps work well with all types of modeling.

Frame 3: holding the hull halves together on my Stella ship by Heller- for scale the plastic hull is 9.5" long:
Frame 4: holding the hull halves together on my Seawolf submarine by Trumpeter, for scale the plastic hull is 28 1/4" long:

Frame 6: They work just fine as they come from the factory, but I found I could get more of a 'snap' grip if I lightly filed the top and bottom of the bars to give them a little tooth- I used 180 grit paper on a sanding stick:
