   The Plank Clamp / Keel Holder at work:   

The base is 10 1/2" long x 2 1/4" wide, jaws are 5/8" wide each side and open to
accept a wood strip or a keel up to 1/4" thick. Clamps to any work-table up to 1 1/2" thick.

Jaws are steel capped so you can easily run a knife down the length of a plank, shaving it to the right width, and the plank can be clamped in at a skew for tapering. Note the neato quick-cam release levers, set in a pair so to hold tapered stock.
